How a Round Works

Each round of Blackjack MH begins by placing a bet. Once the bet is confirmed, the dealer gives each player two cards and takes two cards for themselves — one face up, one face down.

Card values are counted as follows: cards from 2 to 10 are worth their face value, picture cards (J, Q, K) are each worth 10, and an Ace is worth 1 or 11 — whichever is more favourable for the hand. The goal is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over.

On the player's turn they can choose Hit (take another card) or Stand (keep the hand as is). If the hand value goes past 21 it is a "bust" — that hand loses immediately. Once the player's turn ends, the dealer reveals their face-down card and draws or stops according to fixed rules. The dealer generally draws on 16 or less and stands on 17 or more.

If the first two cards are an Ace and a 10-value card, that is a "Blackjack" — the best possible hand, which typically pays out at 1.5 times the bet.

Main Bet Types and Payouts

Several types of bets can be placed in Blackjack MH. Each has a different payout structure — knowing them makes decisions easier.

Main Bet

The foundation of every round. If you beat the dealer you receive an equal amount to your bet (1:1). A Blackjack pays 3:2.

1:1 — Blackjack 3:2

Double Down

After receiving the first two cards, you can place an additional bet equal to the original and receive exactly one more card. Used on the right hand, this is a chance to double your profit.

Double the bet, one card

Split

If the first two cards are of equal value, they can be split into two separate hands. A separate bet must be placed on each hand and each hand is played independently.

Two hands, two bets

Insurance

If the dealer's up card is an Ace, the player can place an insurance bet of up to half the main bet. If the dealer has Blackjack, this bet pays 2:1.

Payout 2:1

Surrender

In some Blackjack variants you can fold after seeing the first two cards. You get back half of the main bet — a smaller loss than losing the full amount.

Half the bet returned

Side Bet

Blackjack MH often includes side bets such as Perfect Pairs or 21+3. These are separate wagers outside the main game and have a different payout structure.

House Edge — The Story Behind the Numbers

Blackjack is one of the casino table games with the lowest house edge. Playing with correct basic strategy can reduce the casino's mathematical advantage significantly — this is what sets Blackjack apart as a skill-based game.

House edge mainly depends on the number of decks, the dealer's rules (hit or stand on soft 17), the Blackjack payout (3:2 or 6:5), and the availability of surrender or re-split. In the MH variant, side bets carry a higher house edge than the main bet — worth keeping in mind.

Keep in mind: the house edge does not guarantee a particular outcome in any given session — it is a long-term mathematical average. Anything can happen in a single round. To learn more about responsible gaming, read our Responsible Gaming page.

Basic Strategy for Beginners

Basic strategy is a decision framework built on mathematics. You do not need to memorise it all — keeping the following principles in mind makes a real difference.

  • Stand on 17 or more. Against any dealer card, if your hand is 17 or higher, taking no more cards is the mathematically correct play.
  • Consider doubling down on 11. At this value one more 10-value card gives you 21, so doubling down is often profitable — especially against a weak dealer card.
  • Always split Ace-Ace and 8-8. Keeping two Aces or two 8s together is generally a poor position — splitting them gives you the chance to build two stronger hands.
  • Play more aggressively when the dealer shows 4, 5, or 6. The dealer is more likely to bust with these cards — that is when it makes sense to take a double down or split opportunity.
  • Generally avoid the insurance bet. Over the long run this bet works in the casino's favour. It is better for new players to skip it.
  • Make decisions by the rules, not by emotion. Increasing bets out of emotion after a big loss or a big win is a common mistake. Keep to your budget and stick to your strategy.

Understanding Table Limits

Blackjack MH has separate tables for players with different budgets. Three types of tables are generally available — low-limit tables (for new or cautious players), mid-limit tables (preferred by regular players), and high-limit tables (for high rollers, especially in the live version).

The minimum and maximum bet for each table is clearly stated. It is important to check this before starting a game — particularly at live tables where limits can be higher than in the digital version.

Side bets have their own separate limits, which are often lower than the main bet. Check the limit of each field separately before placing your bets.

Common Questions and Answers

Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about Blackjack MH.

MH (Multi-Hand) means you can play more than one hand at the same time. In regular Blackjack one hand is played per round, but in the Multi-Hand version it is possible to manage two or three hands against the same dealer at once. This increases the number of bets and decisions per round.

Yes. Basic strategy decisions are based on the value of each hand and the dealer's up card — this principle applies equally to one hand or multiple hands. In Multi-Hand, each hand must be considered separately.

If the player's and dealer's hand values are equal, it is called a "Push" or tie. In this case the bet is returned — no win, no loss. In Blackjack MH this rule applies to each hand separately.

Live Blackjack tables typically use 6 or 8 decks shuffled together. More decks make card counting harder and increase the house edge slightly. The number of decks at a specific table is usually stated in the game description.

Yes, Blackjack MH can be played at 2bet on both a mobile browser and the app. The app is available for Android and iOS — download it through the official channel. For the live version, a good internet connection keeps the stream smooth. For more information, see the 2bet app page.
